Had a line cook walk out mid-service last Friday in Denver

He just dropped his tongs on the pass, said 'I'm done' and walked out the back door without clocking out, and I still had 40 tickets on the rail with no backup, has anyone else had someone just bail like that with zero warning?

Just dropping the tongs and saying "I'm done" like that? That's brutal, man. No warning at all is wild.

...and nobody's asking the real question here, which is what made him snap like that. Cooks don't just walk out for no reason mid-service in this market unless something broke them. Maybe he had a bad shift before, maybe a manger was on his back all week, maybe his paycheck bounced or a credit union messed up his direct deposit. I'm not saying he was in the right, but do yourself a favor and check if he had any complaints filed or if someone on the line was bullying him. That kind of walkout is usually the final straw, not the first.
