Can we talk about spending $400 on a good fish spatula? I either saved my pans or got ripped off

If you're buying a really good one, like from a high-end restaurant supply place or a custom maker, $400 is actually about right. I've seen some that go for more than that. The difference is the metal and how it's made. A cheap one will scratch your non-stick pans or bend after a few uses. A good one is springy, thin, and won't mess up your cookware. So it's not a rip-off if it's a quality tool that does its job right for years.
