I stopped buying chicken breasts and started buying whole birds, and my $12 week got way better
Everyone says chicken breast is the cheap move but it was killing my budget at $4.99 a pound. Bought a whole bird at the market on 5th for $7.50 and got four meals plus stock out of it. I was shocked at how much meat came off the bones once I stopped being scared of the carcass. Now I roast it Sunday and eat off it all week. Anyone else find whole chickens way cheaper per meal than the parts?
