DAE almost cry over a $1.79 bag of lentils that turned out amazing
My buddy kept telling me lentils were basically free protein and I called him a liar to his face at his place in Lubbock last week. Then he made a pot with a $1.79 bag, a diced onion, and a scoop of cheap curry powder, and I ate three bowls standing at his counter. I've made it twice since and it costs me about 45 cents a serving, which beats the $6 frozen dinners I was living on. Now I need something to do with the other five pounds of lentils sitting in my cabinet, so what's your go-to cheap add-in?
