Was skeptical about cash-only for groceries, now I'm sold after 3 months

I used to think using cash for food shopping was backwards, like something your grandpa does. But after I gave myself a $250 monthly cash budget for groceries at the H-E-B on Main Street, I stopped grabbing random snacks and junk. I actually think about what I need before walking in, ends up saving me around $60 a month. Anyone else notice their cart gets lighter when you see the cash stack shrinking?

Wait, $250 a month for ALL your groceries? At H-E-B? How is that even possible unless you're eating beans and rice every single day? That's NUTS to me considering how expensive everything is right now.

Honestly it really is rough out there right now. Ngl I've had to cut way back on meat and fresh produce just to keep my own grocery bill under control. Tbh even with all the planning and coupons it still feels like a miracle to make it work.
