Tried the envelope system for 6 months, then switched to a plain notebook and the notebook won
With envelopes I was always digging for receipts and losing track of what I spent from each one, but writing every purchase in a $1 notebook at the kitchen table made me way more honest about my spending. Anyone else drop envelopes for something simpler?
