The checkout clerk at Food Mart changed my mind about cards
I was in line last Tuesday buying groceries, about $63 worth, and the guy in front of me was arguing with the clerk because his debit card got declined. The clerk stayed calm and said, "If you only brought what you had, you wouldn't be stuck right now." That hit me hard because I've been that guy before, holding up the line and feeling my face go hot. I switched to cash only that same week, and I've noticed I actually think about each purchase now instead of just swiping. The weird part is I don't miss the points or the rewards at all, I just miss the convenience when I forget to hit the ATM. Has anyone else had a random stranger or worker flip their whole approach like that?
