Sticking to cash saved my skin at a sketchy garage sale
I was at a garage sale last Saturday, looking for old tools. The seller had a card reader, but the price on it was higher than the tag. Since I only carry cash, I handed over the exact amount from the tag. He tried to argue, but I stood my ground and walked away with the deal. People say cash is a hassle, but it kept me from getting ripped off.

Doubt this is as serious as you make it sound. The seller probably just messed up the prices. Cash has its uses, but cards have their own safety nets too. Arguing over a garage sale deal seems like a waste of energy. You were not in any real trouble here. It was likely just a simple error.
