Overheard a guy at the gas station arguing with his bank about a $3 overdraft fee

Dude was on the phone for 20 minutes yelling about a charge he got for buying a Monster energy drink. Made me glad I just hand over cash and never deal with that nonsense, has anyone else dodged a stupid bank fee by switching to cash only?

You said "cash just keeps things simple and quiet" but I see it the other way. That guy's problem wasn't the card, it was him losing his mind over three dollars. I've had my share of dumb bank fees too, but I just call once, stay calm, and they usually refund it in five minutes. Cash means I gotta hit the ATM, carry wads of bills, and hope I don't lose my wallet. That's not simple, that's just extra steps. The card didn't rage at the bank, the guy did.

Used to think people who only used cash were being paranoid, but watching that kind of rage over three bucks totally flipped my view. Seeing how fast a tiny bank slip can wreck your whole day makes you realize cash just keeps things simple and quiet. Might start carrying more twenties myself after seeing how much stress a card can bring.
