Old timer at the hardware store told me to keep my emergency cash in a book on the shelf
Back in 2019, this guy named Earl who worked the lumber counter at my local Ace told me to stash a couple hundred bucks inside an old cookbook on my bookshelf. Said it was the first place nobody looks during a break-in. Last month my truck got towed and my cards were inside, but I had that $200 from the cookbook to pay the impound lot cash. Earl knew what he was talking about, I guess. Anyone else got a weird hiding spot that actually saved you?
