Hot take: I used to hate carrying cash, but now I see the point

I always thought cash was a hassle, especially with coins and receipts. But last month, I decided to try cash-only for groceries. I took out a set amount each week and put it in an envelope. The first time, I ran out before the week was over, and had to skip buying snacks. That moment hit me hard. I was spending without thinking. Now, I physically see the money leave my hand, and it makes me pause. I've cut my grocery bill by almost 30%. It's not just about saving money, it's about being aware. I'm convinced this is the way to go for my daily expenses.

Ever feel cash burns a hole like @campbell.sean's phone?

Totally get this. It's wild how making something physical, like cash or even just writing things down, forces your brain to pay attention. I've noticed the same thing with other habits, like putting my phone in another room at night.

Actually, it's the opposite for me with cash. Seeing the physical money leave my wallet makes me spend less, not more. The digital number on a screen just doesn't feel as real. My brain treats it like points in a game, but handing over a twenty hurts.
