Last Tuesday near Austin, a doe clipped the front fender doing 55 and the old Ford just kept going, only needed a junkyard fender for $120. Anyone else had a cheap car shrug off something that would total a new one?
A buddy of mine hit a big buck in his old Tacoma out on a dark county road and it just bent the bumper a bit. Insurance wanted to total it anyway because of the book value, but he bought it back cheap and kept driving it for years. Old trucks and cop cars seem to take hits way better than the plastic stuff they build now.
