Found out my $900 Corolla has a secret oil filter location
I was under my 2003 Corolla for like an hour last weekend trying to find the oil filter. Looked it up on a forum and turns out it's tucked behind the intake manifold on some models, not where any normal person would look. Has anyone else found a weird design thing like that on their cheap car?

tucked behind the intake manifold" jesus that's evil. did your 03 Corolla end up being one of those that has the filter in a "well" kind of area where old oil just sits and gets all over everything when you take it off? ive heard some Toyotas from that era are like that and you basically need to siphon the oil out first or it makes a hell of a mess. what did you end up doing to change it without spilling half the oil on the ground?
