Unpopular take: the Ford 6.0 Powerstroke wasn't the worst engine ever made
I know everyone loves to hate on the 6.0 but I think it got a bad rap from bad owners. I bought a 2005 F-250 back in 2018 with 140k miles on it and spent $2k on bulletproofing it right away. That truck has now got 210k miles on it and still runs strong without a single head gasket issue. The real problem was people ignoring the coolant filters and not letting the engine idle down before shutting it off. Has anybody else had good luck with a motor that everyone says is junk?

Had a buddy with a 6.0 that did the same bulletproofing and it ran like a champ for years. He swore by changing the oil every 3,000 miles no matter what the manual said. Made me wonder how many of those horror stories come down to lazy maintenance habits across the board.
