The alignment shop guy in Dallas told me my tires hated me

Brought my 2014 sedan in for a weird wobble at 65 mph and the tech pointed at the inside edges, said I'd been running 38 psi when the door sticker says 32. He showed me the wear pattern and how the cupping started, so now I check pressure every fuel stop with a $5 gauge. Anyone else ever get roasted by a mechanic for ignoring the sticker numbers?}

That 38 psi on a 2014 sedan, that's a big jump from the sticker, did they say if the tire brand or load rating changes anything, or is it pretty much always a no-go?

I ran a 2014 Civic with the same issue, and the shop told me the load rating matters more than the brand. I bumped mine to 36 psi cold after checking the sidewall max, and it handled fine for 40k miles. Easiest way is to run it a week, watch the wear pattern on the tread, and adjust from there.
