I finally got why people hate the Ford Focus transmission

Was at a stoplight in Austin last Tuesday, and this older guy in the car next to me rolled down his window and yelled 'good luck with that clutch!' I had only owned the car for 3 days. He then told me he went through 3 clutch packs in 18 months on his 2015 model. That one comment from a stranger made me realize I bought a rolling headache, and I wish I had listened sooner. Anyone else get warned by a random person about a car you just bought?

Tbh that's wild but also kinda funny in a dark way. Did the guy give you any specific signs to look for before the transmission goes, or was it just doom and gloom from him? I keep hearing these Focus horror stories but nobody ever says what actually happens when it starts failing.

Tbh" nah, I gotta push back here. These transmissions fail with zero warning, just sudden shuddering.
