Unpopular opinion: the best meets are the small ones with bad coffee
My neighbor Dale talked me into driving out to a 12-car meet behind a diner in Modesto last Saturday instead of the big lot on 5th, and honestly it was better than any 200-car show I have been to. Nobody there had a wrap or a light bar, just guys with old trucks and one guy with a beat up Miata who let me sit in it. The coffee was terrible and I did not care one bit, because we actually talked about the cars instead of standing around taking pictures. Am I the only one who thinks the huge meets have gotten worse, or is that just me getting old?
Wait, he just let you sit in his Miata? There is no way a stranger is handing over the keys to a beat up Miata at a diner meet unless he really trusted you.
