Unpopular opinion: the 7 AM meet at Grindstone Coffee in Austin is better than the big Saturday one at Domain
I hit Grindstone last Sunday on a whim after my buddy bailed on the Domain thing. Place had maybe 12 cars total but three of them were legit vintage builds, one guy had a 67 Mustang with an original 289 that he actually drives weekly. The Domain crowd shows up to park next to each other and stare at phones. At Grindstone people actually walked around and talked about suspension setups and who repainted what. No vendors, no loud exhaust revving contest, just coffee and cars. Bigger meets get the hype but this felt like the old school vibe. Am I crazy for liking the small one better or does everyone just go to Domain for the Instagram shots these days?
