The early morning meet at 6am last Saturday had 3 cars show up

Three years ago that same spot off Route 9 had 40 people before the sun was fully up. Last month it dropped to maybe 12. But last week only 4 of us showed, and this Saturday it was just me and a guy in a rusty Civic. Is the local cars and coffee dying or am I just picking bad weekends?

Bet you haven't checked if the shop that used to sponsor the coffee and donuts closed down or stopped caring. That was the place on Route 9 that had the good setup with the folding chairs and the portable heater when it got cold. Once they pulled out, nobody wanted to organize anymore because that owner handled all the social media posts and reminders. Without someone pushing it on the local groups, word just dies out slowly. Try checking next time if there's a newer, smaller group that started meeting at a different time or day nearby instead.

Oh man, that hits way too close to home. I'm the person who always forgets to check the local Facebook groups until three weeks after everything fell apart. Classic me, showing up to the empty parking lot with my own donut and a confused look on my face. Route 9 place had those foldable chairs that always pinched my fingers something awful but the coffee was worth it. Guess I'll wander around next weekend looking for a random new group, probably end up at the wrong church basement again like I did last time.
