The $8 oil filter that exposed my local meet's dyno faker

Tbh I was swapping filters in the parking lot before a Cars and Coffee in Austin and this dude with a massive turbo build starts bragging about his 600hp tune. I peeled the sticker off his intake and found a stock filter box date code from 2019, so I looked up his claimed shop on Yelp, zero results. Has anyone else caught someone faking dyno numbers just from the hardware they never bothered to upgrade?
