Wrote off hot glue for seams for 12 years, a guy in Phoenix changed my mind in one afternoon
I always stapled and seamed taped every seam because that is how the old crew in Reno trained me back in 2012, and hot glue felt like a shortcut for hacks. Then last month I helped a guy on a 3,200 sq ft job in Phoenix and he ran a glue gun down every seam before the tape, and we knocked out the upstairs in 4 hours. I went back to my own jobs and tried it on a small bedroom, and honestly those seams came out flatter than anything my stapler ever did. I still staple the high traffic stuff, but for most seams the glue is faster and cleaner. Anyone else switch over, or am I late to something that has been normal for years?
