Vent: My old boss in Phoenix said we'd never need a knee kicker for commercial glue-down jobs.
I saw a huge change after I bought my own and started using it on every install, the seams got tighter and the stretch was way more even. That was three years ago and I haven't had a single callback for buckling or loose edges. Am I the only one who thinks a knee kicker is a must-have even for glue-down, or was my old boss right?

Totally get what you're saying, and @jamiegreen is right about the results. But a knee kicker isn't really for stretch on glue-down, it's just for closing seams and locking the board edges before the glue grabs. That's probably why your seams got better.

Your old boss was dead wrong about not needing a knee kicker. The proof is in your results with no callbacks for three years. That tool is essential for a tight, even stretch on glue-down.

My old boss would have a heart attack if he saw my knee kicker collection now. Got three of them hanging on the wall like trophies. Guess I proved him wrong by basically becoming a walking ad for the tool. Still makes me laugh when I remember his whole "real installers don't need that" speech.
