That time I found a pet hamster under the tack strip in a Phoenix condo

Was pulling up old carpet and heard a rustling sound, then saw a little face peeking out from a chewed-up corner of the pad. The owner had 'lost' it three months prior. Ever had a job turn into a wildlife rescue?

Honestly I'm not sure that's actually a good thing... three months is a really long time for a hamster to be surviving in the walls eating who knows what. That animal probably went through hell and might have been better off if it hadn't been found. Not to mention the damage it could have done to the wiring or insulation in that time. I'm not saying the owner shouldn't be happy but sometimes finding something lost isn't actually the happy ending people think it is.

Finding a lost pet like that must have made your whole week.

Wait, did they actually find the pet alive after all that time? That's insane, I heard about pets being gone for months and just giving up hope. The relief must have been unreal, like your brain can't even process it at first. I'd be a total mess, crying and everything. Stuff like that really makes you believe in crazy luck or something.
