Rant: I always thought a carpet stretcher was just for big rooms
I was reading an old trade magazine from 1998 in a waiting room and it said a power stretcher can add 5 years to a carpet's life even in a 10x12 space. I've been knee-kicking small jobs for a decade. Do you guys always break out the big stretcher, or just for the large areas?

Actually, that 1998 advice is a bit off. A power stretcher can definitely stretch a carpet too tight in a small room, causing other problems. The knee kicker is still the right tool for most smaller spaces, lol.

Man, that article would have saved you a lot of knee pain. I always use the power stretcher now, even on smaller rooms. It just does a better job.
