Nail strip splinter went through my knee pad, 45 minutes of first aid at 7 AM

Hit a stray tack strip edge wrong on a remodel in Phoenix and the wood sliver punched clean through the pad into my kneecap area. Took me longer to dig it out with tweezers and wrap it than it did to finish the hallway, anyone else carry a proper splinter kit on site now?

Saw a paramedic post online once saying the worst splinters they pull out of people are always from construction sites, usually because nobody carries anything but a pocketknife. That stuck with me, so now I keep one of those little sewing kit tins in my truck with a proper pick, tweezers, and some alcohol wipes. Cost like four bucks at the drugstore. Still remember the time I tried to use a razor blade to get a sliver out at 6 AM, that was a mess. You really do learn your lesson after the first time you're digging wood out of your own knee with a keychain tool.
