Ray, a guy who has been laying carpet for 31 years, showed me how to use a power stretcher with the right pin placement and now the same room takes me 45 minutes with zero wrinkles. What tricks did you all pick up from the old timers that cut your time down?

Ray sounds like every old carpet guy I know, they just do it faster because their body knows where to go. If you can learn one thing from them a week you'll be better than half the guys out there. 45 minutes a room is legit.
