Our old house had a blue shag carpet that would spark you if you touched anything metal. My cat used to get zapped just walking across the room. Did their carpet manage to shock you too?

So was the carpet pure wool or that synthetic stuff that builds up static like crazy? I'm wondering if the material made it worse.
