Just talked to a flooring inspector in Tampa who said he's seeing a ton of failed glue-down jobs because people aren't checking moisture levels first.

Yeah that's a huge problem, I've seen it happen too. People just don't realize how important that step is.

@gwen217 That's a fair point but I've seen plenty of glue-down jobs that hold up fine even with higher moisture levels, it really depends on the specific glue and subfloor prep. I kinda wonder @hayden_martin29 if the real issue is people using cheap adhesive that can't handle any moisture at all, not just skipping the test.

My buddy in St. Pete had to redo 1200 square feet last year for this exact reason. @hayden_martin29 is right, it's a total mess when it fails. The glue just lets go and the whole floor bubbles up. It's such an easy thing to check first, but people skip it to save a day.
