Just realized my knee kicker was set wrong for years

I was having trouble with rippling on a job in Oakwood last Tuesday... turns out my knee kicker's pin depth was set way too shallow. I always blamed the padding or the carpet but after I adjusted it, the stretch was perfect on the first try. Has anyone else had a tool setting throw off their whole install without realizing it?

I heard a guy on a podcast say half his install problems vanished after he recalibrated his knee kicker.

Couldn't AGREE more with you @simon378! I had the EXACT same thing happen on my last install. I was fighting with my knee kicker for days, getting all these weird misfires and jams, and then I found a YouTube video about recalibrating the sensor. Took me maybe 20 minutes to run through the process with a hex key and a couple of test runs. After that, it was like NIGHT AND DAY differences - everything just clicked into place smooth as butter. I seriously wish I had tried that before wasting a whole weekend pulling my hair out over a stupid sensor setting. Now I tell everyone that if your knee kicker is acting up, recalibrating should be step one before you even think about replacing parts or calling for help.
