I thought those fancy seam rollers were a total waste of money...

For years I just used a regular roller and a block of wood, thinking the expensive ones were a gimmick. Then I had a huge glue-down job in a Tacoma office building with this tricky, dense commercial pile. My old method left a visible line on every seam. A guy on the crew handed me his $80 heavy-duty seam roller and told me to give it five passes. The seam practically disappeared. Now I keep one in my truck for every commercial job. Anyone else have a tool they swore was useless until it saved a job?

But what if that line was just bad prep work?

My buddy laughed at laser levels until his deck project was saved by one.

Seriously, an eighty dollar roller? That's just nuts.
