Had to choose between a 12-foot seam or moving the baseboard in a tight hallway

Went with the seam to save time, but now I see a faint line every time the sun hits it just right. Anyone have a better trick for hiding seams in direct light?

What kind of paint did you use? A different sheen might hide it better.

Saw a post on a DIY forum last week about this exact thing. The guy said flat paint hides patches way better than eggshell or satin. He had to repaint his whole hallway because the sheen mismatch showed every fix. Makes sense when you think about how light hits the wall. Glossier finishes just highlight any surface that isn't perfect.
