Had a customer in Tacoma ask me to save a 30 year old carpet from a flood
Their basement got 2 inches of water last winter. They said 'it's the carpet my kids learned to walk on, can you do anything?' I spent 6 hours pulling it up, cleaning the pad, and drying the floor with fans. Got it back down with minimal seams. They cried when they saw it. Made me think about the stuff we save that isn't just about money. What's the oldest carpet you've managed to rescue?

Got that old book smell, like dust and secrets. Makes you wonder about all the hands that turned those pages.
