Finished a whole house in one day and actually got to leave before dark

I had a 2,000 square foot job in a split level outside of Albany on Wednesday, and somehow everything lined up perfectly. The pad went down smooth, not a single seam was off, and the homeowner even helped me move furniture without me asking. Does anybody else get lucky days like that where everything just clicks?

Wait, did the homeowner actually help move furniture without you asking, or did you have to hint at it first? That's a huge difference in my experience. If they just jumped in on their own, that's like winning the customer lottery. Those are the kind of clients you remember for years after. What did they say when they started helping you, any small talk or just straight to work?

Used to think homeowners helping was more trouble than it was worth, like they'd get in the way or slow me down. But this lady just started carrying end tables and said "you look like you know what you're doing, just tell me where." Totally changed my mind on the whole thing. I was like "uh, just set that stuff in the dining room" and she did, no fuss no questions. Made the whole job fly by, finished trimming out by 3pm.
