Finally tried a power stretcher mat instead of my old knee kicker on a big room

Been doing carpet for like 8 years and always used a knee kicker on residential jobs, figured power stretchers were overkill. Last month I had a 20x15 living room with some real wavy carpet, so I borrowed my buddy's power stretcher setup with the pole and head. Night and day difference, I pulled that carpet tight in half the time and the seams lined up perfect, zero ripples. My knees also don't ache today, which is a bonus I didn't expect. The learning curve was short, maybe one room to get the hang of the pole angle and how much bite to use. Now I'm thinking of grabbing my own rig, but the good ones run around $400. Anyone else switch late and wonder why they waited so long, or is knee kicking still the play for you guys on certain jobs?
