Carpet backorders are wrecking my job timelines

Last month, a supplier promised carpet in five days, but it took over twenty. The homeowner kept texting me, frustrated about the hold up. I had to push back three other jobs because of it. Now I add a huge buffer to any schedule that needs special order stuff. It might annoy some clients, but I can't afford to have my guys sitting around. Waiting for materials is the worst part of this job, and I'm done trusting delivery dates blindly.

Ever think to check if the delay messed up your prep work for other jobs too? Like now your guys might be stuck fixing drywall instead of laying carpet. It's a domino effect lol.

Our tile guy had to push back two bathrooms because of a flooring holdup. Totally blew up his whole week's schedule.
