Am I the only one who sees way more requests for patterned carpet now?
Three years ago, maybe one in ten jobs had a pattern, and it was always a simple border. Last month in a house in Springfield, the client wanted a full herringbone layout in the living room. It took me and my helper a full extra day to get the seams right. Has anyone else had to get a lot better at pattern matching lately?

Oh wow, that's so true. It's not just carpets, it's like everything is getting busier. I saw wallpaper with giant, mismatched lemons in a cafe bathroom last week. Feels like we're all just tired of plain gray boxes.

Ngl I haven't really noticed that shift. Most of my clients are still asking for the same solid colors and low pile stuff.

Yeah, the giant mismatched lemons thing got me. I was at a hardware store last week and they had rolls of this wild wallpaper with, like, different sized toasters all over it. It was next to the plain stuff and just looked so loud. I mean idk, maybe it's just me but it feels like we're all trying to make our spaces feel less like a waiting room.
