Why did nobody warn me that a $6 rasp would beat my $60 block plane on end grain
Was helping a guy trim out a bar top in Council Bluffs last month and he grabbed a cheap Shinto rasp instead of a plane for the end grain, and it cut cleaner in half the time. I have been fighting tearout with my block plane for 3 years and never thought to try one. Anybody else keep a rasp within arm's reach on trim days?
