Tried to fix a split window frame with epoxy on a rainy Tuesday...

Was working at a client's house in Portland and the epoxy just ran right out the crack because the wood was too wet, so I had to chisel it all out and start over with a dutchman patch, has anyone else had trouble matching old fir window frames in the northwest?

Epoxy on wet wood is operator error, the product works fine if you use a heat gun to dry the frame first.

Question whether using a heat gun on a whole frame is even practical. Like are we talking about a full kayak build or just a small repair? I can see trying to dry out a little spot but if the wood is already wet through and through you'd be there all day with that heat gun. Seems like way more work than just letting the wood dry out naturally first.
