Shoutout to the guy who used a framing nailer on kitchen cabinets last month

I show up to a kitchen reno in Denver last month and the homeowner had already started. He used a framing nailer to attach the cabinet doors. Every single door had these huge dents and splits right where the nails went in. I spent two whole days filling holes and sanding before I could even start the finish work. He just smiled and said he was saving time. Has anyone else walked into a DIY job that made you want to turn around and leave?

Is it just me or does every homeowner suddenly think power tools give them magic skills? I swear people watch one YouTube video and suddenly they're convinced nails and screws are interchangeable for all eternity. It's like watching someone use a sledgehammer to hang a picture frame and wondering why the wall caved in.

Wait did my neighbor lend you his drill for that rant or what? @avery_carr57 you're speaking my language though because I'm the guy who watched one video on how to fix a leaky faucet and ended up flooding my entire kitchen. Nails and screws feel like the same thing to me until I'm staring at a pile of drywall dust wondering where I went wrong. I honestly think power tools just give people confidence to make bigger messes faster than doing it by hand.
