I used to think biscuit joiners were just for show, but a cabinet job proved me wrong
For years, I'd just glue and clamp my face frames, thinking biscuits were extra work for no real gain. Then I built a big built-in for a client's damp basement in Portland, using maple that just would not stay flat. My usual glue joints kept opening up after a few days in that space. I finally borrowed a friend's Porter Cable biscuit joiner, cut slots in every joint, and the whole thing stayed rock solid. It's been six months now with no movement at all. Has anyone else had a project where biscuits saved the day like that?

Man, that's the best feeling when a tool finally proves its worth.

My buddy spent months doubting his new drill press until it saved a whole project last weekend.
