Hit 1000 finished cabinets without a callback and here is what I learned
I passed 1000 completed cabinet jobs last Tuesday without a single callback for a failure. That number felt impossible when I started 8 years ago with just a circular saw and a bad attitude. The secret was switching to pocket holes for face frames and spending the extra 15 minutes on sanding. Now I am sitting at 1002 and starting to wonder if I just jinxed myself. Has anyone else tracked their numbers and found a pattern in what trips them up?

Thought that pocket hole thing was just hype but tried it on a set of uppers last spring and yeah it changed my whole workflow. Way less racking on the face frames and the joints actually stay put. The sanding part I always half-assed before but now I do that extra 15 minutes on the end grain and it kills any splitting later. Honestly thought you were overthinking it until I hit my first 200 without a callback and realized the prep work is what separates the good from the sloppy.
