Got a new track saw last month and realized I've been overpaying for 10 years on cheap circular saws

Picked up a Festool TSC 55 from a guy in Denver who was upgrading and after using it to cut down 20 sheets of 3/4 ply for a kitchen job I finally get why you pay $600 for a saw that doesn't fight you, has anyone else had that moment where one tool makes you hate everything else in your box?

A circular saw with a clamped straightedge does the same thing" - sure, if you enjoy fighting a blade that wanders and a motor that bogs down. I have a whole drawer full of "good enough" tools that taught me patience the hard way. That first cut with the Festool where the blade just glides through without any deflection is worth every penny.

Nah, $600 for a saw that just cuts straight is a flex most people can't afford. A $150 circular saw with a decent blade and a clamped straightedge does the same thing for 90% less headache.
