Blew out my back on a simple shelf install at Home Depot last Tuesday

I was just grabbing a pre-cut shelf board off the bottom rack at the Home Depot on 3rd street. Bent down wrong and felt something pop in my lower back. Hobbled around for 20 minutes trying to finish the job for a client before I realized I was being an idiot. Now I'm ordering one of those lift platforms for my truck bed to save my spine. Any of you guys use those Roller Loader things for heavy sheets?

Three years ago I was helping @susan424's brother move a stack of drywall and he twisted wrong, same deal - pop in the back and he was on the floor for a week. Those Roller Loader things are okay but I borrowed one from a buddy and the plastic rollers wore down after like 6 heavy sheets of plywood. The metal ones hold up better but they scratch your truck bed if you're not careful. If you're doing this more than once a month, just commit to the lift platform, seriously. Even a cheap $150 hitch mount one will save you from that hobbling around like a grandpa feeling.

Heard my buddy Mike tell this same story at a barbecue last summer. He was loading plywood into his van and twisted just a little too fast, ended up flat on his back for three days watching old westerns on his phone. Anyway, he tried one of those Roller Loader things from a rental place and said it saved his bacon, but he also mentioned you gotta be careful with the weight limit or it'll tip sideways on you. Makes me wonder if those lift platforms are worth the money for the occasional heavy sheet, or if you're better off just paying the kid at the store ten bucks to help you toss it in the truck.
