Almost lost two fingers to a table saw kickback in my own garage, and here's what I did
Last Tuesday I was ripping a 2x4 on my old Craftsman table saw in the garage when the blade grabbed and the board shot back like a bullet. I had my left hand too close to the blade because I thought I could just push it through fast. The board hit my wrist and gave me a nasty bruise, but the real wake-up call was seeing how close my fingers came to the blade. I went out the next day and bought a pair of push sticks and a featherboard from Home Depot, and now I won't touch the saw without them. Has anyone else had a close call like this? What push blocks do you recommend?
