Warning: my 3 month bootcamp plan turned into a free YouTube education instead

I spent $2,300 on a data analytics bootcamp back in March thinking it was my fast track out of retail. By week 4 I realized the instructor was just reading slides from a free course I could have found myself. I canceled my credit card payment and started following Alex the Analyst on YouTube and working through his portfolio projects step by step. That free approach landed me a junior analyst role at a logistics company in Cleveland after 5 months of self study. Has anyone else had better luck skipping the paid programs?

Holy cow! $2,300 for reading slides? That is wild. I almost signed up for a bootcamp but found a guy on YouTube teaching SQL for free. Saved me a ton of money. Good for you for canceling that payment before it was too late.
