The exact day I hit 100 applications and it changed my whole approach

I was tracking every job I applied to on a spreadsheet and hit exactly 100 last Tuesday. That number made me realize I was just spraying my resume everywhere instead of actually customizing it for each role. After I slowed down and focused on just 5 quality applications a week, I got 2 callbacks in the same month out of Atlanta. Has anyone else had a specific number like that wake them up?

Hit 50 before I realized half those companies didn't even exist.

It clicks in other areas too once you notice it. Same thing happened to me with trying to find a good mechanic. I called around to like 15 shops and got nowhere, so I just focused on the 3 closest ones and actually talked to the owners. Ended up with a guy who used to race and he saved me hundreds. We think more options gives us more power but it really just wears us out. That spreadsheet probably did you a favor by making the pattern impossible to ignore.
