Just realized my old resume trick was costing me interviews
I used to cram Every single job duty into my bullet points thinking more detail = better. After switching careers last year from retail to IT support, a recruiter told me my laundry list approach made me look like a jack of all trades. Has anyone else had to totally rethink how they frame their experience after a switch?

Mine's the opposite, I truncated my resume and bombed because they wanted all the detail.

Cramming every little thing in there just buries what actually matters. I learned that the hard way when I was job hunting a few years back, a hiring manager straight up told me they saw a wall of text and moved on. Pick 3 or 4 big wins from your old job that show skills you used, not just a list of stuff you did. Keep it tight and relevant to the new field, nobody wants to read a novel about cash register duties when you're applying for tech support.
