Hot take: I quit my HVAC job to work for myself and made less money, but I'm still glad I did it
Left a steady $28 an hour gig at a shop in Akron to go independent last fall, and after 7 months I'm clearing about $400 less a month than I used to. My old coworkers say I messed up and my wife's cousin who does taxes thinks I should've stayed put, but I sleep better and pick my own jobs now. So which matters more, the paycheck or the peace, and has anyone else walked away from steady money and regretted it?
