Hit 100k in my new field and honestly expected to feel more
I switched from retail management to data analytics about 18 months ago. Everyone told me hitting six figures was the big milestone but when I got that bonus that pushed me over 100k last month it just felt like any other day. The real win for me was when I solved a problem my boss had been stuck on for 3 weeks and she actually gave me a shoutout in the team meeting. Anyone else find that the money number doesn't hit as hard as the little wins do?

Saw a study once that said job satisfaction peaks way before salary does.

That study makes SO much sense if youve ever worked a job where you were miserable but paid well. Once you hit a certain point where you can cover your bills and have a little left over, more money just doesn't fix the toxic boss or the boring work. The trick is finding that sweet spot where you're not stressed about money but also not dreading Monday every week. Best thing I ever did was take a slight pay cut to leave a job that was wearing me out. Now I make enough to live on but actually like getting up in the morning.
