Blew $150 on a career coaching package that was just generic advice

Signed up for one of those 4 session career coach deals thinking they'd help me figure out the next step after leaving auto repair. All they did was read off a script about updating my resume and networking. Anyone else get ripped off by one of these things and find a better way to spend the cash?

Did you really expect much different for a hundred and fifty bucks though... career coaching seems like one of those things where the real value is in the person you get, not the package. Half those places just read from a script they bought online. Sorry you got burned, but that money might have been better spent on a specific certification for something you already know.

Yeah for real, that's a good point about the certification. I've seen people drop cash on these generic coaching packages and they get way less out of it than just picking one specific skill to level up. It's like, the coach might tell you to network more but doesn't actually help you get the credentials that make people want to network with you.
